Privacy Policy

What information do we collect?

We collect information from you when you register for an event, sign up for our e-news and action alerts, or make a donation.

You may visit our site anonymously.

What do we use your information for?

Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:

Note: If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.

Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred or given to a third party company except for the expressed purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested or trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or providing contracted service so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.

Your data may be shared with Cascade Bicycle Club, our partner organization, for the purposes of shared activities such as the Seattle to Portland ride (proceeds support both organizations), Bike Month promotion, and statewide advocacy. You may unsubscribe at any time from Cascade Bicycle Club emails without affecting your status on the Washington Bikes email list.

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or when you enter, submit or access your personal information.

All supplied sensitive information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our Payment gateway providers database, which is only accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems.

After a transaction your credit card is only saved by our Payment gateway provider, Cybersource, who will securely retain it for 180 days for the purpose of potentially processing returns on your purchases. When you make a donation through PayPal your transaction is protected by PayPal’s security practices; we do not receive your PayPal payment information other than the amount. When you make a donation through ActBlue your transaction is protected by ActBlue’s security practices; we receive limited information about your name, address, and Express Account status.
