Bike Month Proclamation

Ask your mayor and city council to proclaim May as Bike Month in your town. It’s a great way to celebrate recent wins for biking, highlight opportunities for more progress, and kickstart conversations with your elected officials on why safe, accessible biking matters in your community. 

Work with your elected officials to set a date for when the proclamation will be voted on and who will accept it – this can happen anytime leading up to or during the month of May. Let reporters know when the proclamation will be voted on, and get the word out in your community to bring people who represent all kinds of bicycling to accept the proclamation.
