For a little while, Jack Hilovsky in our office held the top spot.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In some cities you&#8217;ll have to plug the meter all day to take over a space. In other towns it&#8217;s managed through a formal permit process. Either way, getting a lot of people to do it can make for a fun festival atmosphere throughout your downtown. In 2014, the day falls at the end of the <a title=\"Seattle Design Festival\" href=\"http:\/\/www.designinpublic.org\/seattledesignfestival\/\" target=\"_blank\">Seattle Design Festival<\/a> (Sept. 5-19), creating a great conclusion to this multi-day event with the theme &#8220;Design in Motion.&#8221; <strong><\/strong><a title=\"Seattle Park(ing) Day information from Seattle Dept of Transportation\" href=\"http:\/\/www.seattle.gov\/transportation\/seattleparkingday.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Permit application and other information<\/a>.\u00a0<strong>Permit deadline: Aug. 29.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Tacoma&#8217;s<\/strong> <a title=\"Get Involved in Park(ing) Day!
