{"id":7549,"date":"2014-05-01T09:51:17","date_gmt":"2014-05-01T16:51:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wabikes.org\/?p=7549"},"modified":"2014-05-01T10:00:35","modified_gmt":"2014-05-01T17:00:35","slug":"governor-inslee-proclaims-may-1-bike-month-washington-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wabikes.org\/index.php\/2014\/05\/01\/governor-inslee-proclaims-may-1-bike-month-washington-state\/","title":{"rendered":"Governor Inslee Proclaims May Bike Month in Washington State!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Be sure to join us tonight at the Washington Bikes Pioneer Square Offices to Celebrate!<\/h3>\n<p>It&#8217;s a big day for bicycling in Washington state. <a title=\"Washington #1 Bike-Friendly State\" href=\"http:\/\/wabikes.org\/2014\/05\/01\/washington-state-americas-top-bicycle-friendly-state-7th-year-in-a-row\/\">Today, for the seventh year in a row, the League of American Bicyclists ranked Washington state the most bike-friendly state in the Union<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Bike tourism and travel in Washington state is also getting a boost with tonight&#8217;s book release of <a href=\"http:\/\/wabikes.org\/support-us\/shop\/cycling-sojourner-best-bike-tours-wa\/\"><em>Cycling Sojourner &#8211; A Guide to the Best Multi-Day Tours in Washington<\/em><\/a> &#8211; be sure to <a href=\"http:\/\/wabikes.org\/event-ride\/first-thurs-cycling-sojourner-book-launch-ale-liance-release\/\">join us tonight (Thursday, May 1 at 5:30 pm for the party at our Seattle offices in Pioneer Square)<\/a> to get your book, try out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/AleLianceIPA\">Schooner Exact&#8217;s Ale-Liance IPA<\/a>, meet the authors of <em>Cycling Sojourner<\/em>, and party with bicyclists celebrating the book release and the first day of bike month.<\/p>\n<p>Last, but definitely not least, Governor Jay Inslee has proclaimed May <a href=\"http:\/\/wabikes.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Bike-Month.pdf\">Bike Month<\/a> in Washington state! In the proclamation he notes the importance of bicycling for transportation, the environment, and economic development statewide.
