Unlit cyclists who stopped by with their bike had front and rear lights installed on the spot. Bicyclists who already had lights were given a Woods Coffee card as a thank you gift for doing their part to follow the law and be seen.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/wabikes.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/See-Be-Seen-nov-19-2013-7.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-5963\" alt=\"See &amp; Be Seen nov 19 2013 (7)\" src=\"http:\/\/wabikes.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/See-Be-Seen-nov-19-2013-7-300x200.jpg\" width=\"180\" height=\"120\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wabikes.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/See-Be-Seen-nov-19-2013-7-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/wabikes.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/See-Be-Seen-nov-19-2013-7-1024x682.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 180px) 100vw, 180px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Students were very appreciative and excited to be more visible while on the road. One student in particular had been riding her bike to school and taking the bus home since she didn&#8217;t have lights, she was excited to now be able to bike home in the dark. A total of 100 bike lights were installed in two days.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/wabikes.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/See-Be-Seen-nov-19-2013-8.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-5964\" alt=\"See &amp; Be Seen campaign entailed more than just giving away free lights, as Kim Brown, Transportation Options Coordinator for the City of Bellingham wrote, &#8220;Bellingham Police traffic officers and University Police provided targeted enforcement November 20\u2013December 20 to educate bicyclists about being visible at night and to enforce traffic laws for bicyclists and motorists.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The See &amp;
