I\u2019m so grateful that for over two decades\u2014nearly three\u2014people all over Washington have supported our work on behalf of bicycling through\u00a0<a title=\"Become a Member\" href=\"http:\/\/wabikes.org\/support-us\/become-a-member\/\">dues<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wabikes.org\/support-us\/donate\">donations<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/WAbikeplate\">Share the Road license plate purchases<\/a>. As a result\u00a0<strong>more kids are riding bikes, more streets have\u00a0bike facilities,<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>more towns promote bicycling\u00a0<\/strong>to improve health and quality of life for everyone while supporting Main-Street jobs.<\/p>\n<p>American stories about Thanksgiving reflect on history as well. In our earliest days we were the Northwest Bicycle Federation (NOW Bike), the Bicycle Federation of Washington joined us, then we became the Bicycle Alliance.<\/p>\n<p>Our programs have changed over the years along with our name, but our mission of growing bicycling statewide has never wavered. Our work has always had the same vision: A future in which\u00a0<strong>more and more of Washington bikes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And now <a title=\"When Our Work Succeeds, Washington Bikes. And That\u2019s Our New Name!\" href=\"http:\/\/wabikes.org\/2013\/11\/03\/when-our-work-succeeds-washington-bikes-and-thats-our-new-name\/\">Washington Bikes is our name as well as our goal<\/a>.<\/strong>\u00a0Advocacy organizations like ours around the country are choosing new names that tell you their reason for being as they outgrow names that simply label an organizational structure.
