{"id":10005,"date":"2014-10-15T13:04:32","date_gmt":"2014-10-15T20:04:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wabikes.org\/?p=10005"},"modified":"2014-10-28T13:22:51","modified_gmt":"2014-10-28T20:22:51","slug":"submit-proposals-2015-youth-bike-summit-seattle-wa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wabikes.org\/index.php\/2014\/10\/15\/submit-proposals-2015-youth-bike-summit-seattle-wa\/","title":{"rendered":"Submit Proposals for the 2015 Youth Bike Summit in Seattle, WA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2015 Youth Bike Summit is being held in Seattle and organizers are now accepting proposals for workshops and presentation. \u00a0This is an opportunity to showcase all the amazing work happening in Washington, and to demonstrate why Washington truly is the #1 Bike Friendly State.<\/p>\n<p>The Youth Bike Summit is a three-day conference geared toward youth, bikes, educations, advocacy, and leadership.\u00a0 It will be hosted for the first time ever on the west coast from February 13-15 at Bike Works in Southeast Seattle .\u00a0 The mission of Youth Bike is to transform local communities and strengthen the national movement by empowering bicycle leaders.<\/p>\n<p>Do you have something to present or know someone who should present? \u201cInnovation\u201d is this year\u2019s theme for the Summit, and we know there is lots of that here. It could be a workshop on how to\u00a0start a mountain biking club, students telling about\u00a0how they got involved with local planning,\u00a0a showcase of fashion for youth who like to ride, an epic tale of some\u00a0Girl Scout&#8217;s week long bicycle tour, youth helping youth\u00a0start their school&#8217;s first bike to school day, or anything. You can see <a href=\"http:\/\/youthbikesummit.org\/youth-bike-summit-2014\/program\/\" target=\"_blank\">last year&#8217;s program here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/1cFP29Mjzgb4vtGC9-AKXkODyekNPu4Yt_XRiu0xlZlM\/edit\" target=\"_blank\">Go here to submit a proposal.<\/a>\u00a0They are accepting workshops and\u00a0presentations until Friday, October 31.\u00a0 The formats can consist of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hands-on workshops<\/li>\n<li>Panel presentation<\/li>\n<li>Small group discussion<\/li>\n<li>Project showcase\/exhibition<\/li>\n<li>Academic paper\/case study<\/li>\n<li>Multimedia screening<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is a great opportunity to inspire the next generation of riders and recognize the impressive work your local community is doing.
