May is Bike to School Month

MAY 6th, 2015 Bike to School Day

Riding a bike to school is good for one’s health, good for the community and environment, and great for preparing students to learn. Each May, schools around the Nation celebrate the benefits of riding a bike by organizing activities for Bike to School Month and participating in Bike to School Day. In 2015, Bike to School Day is May 6th.

Join students, parents, and teachers in bringing a Bike to School events to your elementary, middle, or high school. Register your school’s Bike to School Month activities at WalkBiketoSchool.org.

Events can span from encouraging students to ride their bike by tracking distance or numbers of trips, organizing bike trains and support for families to ride together, and education on bike safety through the Bike and Pedestrian Safety Education Program. As Bike to School month approaches, we will keep you informed of new resources and exciting happenings around Washington State.

Registering your event at WalkBiketoSchool.org will keep you connected about bike to school resources, events, and news from around Washington State. Registering will enter your school in a weekly raffle to win a Saris bike parking system. Thank you Saris for supporting Bike to School month!
